Lou Harbour

Chair

Louise is the Interim Chair of Labour Friends of the Forces, bringing experience from both military service and public life. She served in the Royal Air Force as an electrical mechanical engineer, where she built a strong foundation in teamwork, leadership and problem-solving.

Since leaving the RAF, Louise has worked in the international development sector as both a programme coordinator and, more recently, as a campaigner and project manager, focusing on global health and development issues. Alongside this, she has remained active in local government, including serving as former Deputy Leader of Knowsley Council, where she worked closely with communities and helped protect the services people rely on.

An active member of the Labour Party for over 15 years, Louise cares deeply about strengthening the relationship between the Armed Forces community and the Labour movement, and making sure the voices of service personnel, veterans and their families are properly heard.
